"The Killing," AMC
Nomination Status: AMC's got a great Emmy track record for dramas.
In Its Favor: If I'd made this gallery three or four weeks into the "Killing" season, I guarantee you that AMC's new murder mystery drama would have been in the Top Six. Last year, when AMC only had two dramas, they were both in the Outstanding Drama field. With "Breaking Bad" falling out of the field for a year, will "The Killing," "The Walking Dead" or "Rubicon" (Ha!) rise up to take its place?
Working Against It: As you may have heard, "The Killing" ceased to be so unanimously adored by the end of its first season. In fact, by the finale, some percentage of fans had become actively angry at the drama. The "Killing" finale, which produced a crescendo of anger, coincided all too poorly with the end of the Emmy nomination balloting period. That's probably not a good sign.
