Cherry Jones won't repeat, so will a 'Grey's Anatomy' or 'Mad Men' co-star top the field?

Calista Flockhart? HELL, NO! And this is coming from someone who never misses an episode of B&S.

Christina Hendricks "designated bombshell and magazine coverbabe" of 'Mad Men'? What about January Jones? She's got a GQ photo spread and 'SNL' hosting gig under her belt.

LJA January Jones would submit herself in the leading actress category, this is supporting actress.

I think Mae Whitman (the best thing about Parenthood) and Jurnee Smollett deserved metions. You they have not a chance in hell of getting nominated, but they should have gotten a shout-out.

    My personal list would be:

    1. Christina Hendricks
    2. Khandi Alexander
    3. Elizabeth Moss
    4. Jennifer Carpenter
    5. Mae Whitman
    6. Michelle Forbes

  • Thanks for recognizing the awesomeness of Maggie Siff and Khandi Alexander! Two of the most rockin' actresses on TV! Why don't these 2 get more kudos? Politics, I say!

Great list. Though I'm sad to see you missed out on Sara Ramirez for you Grey's Anatomy block. Strong support every year. Not flash but simply fantastic. Also surprised to see Oh submitted for supporting and not Lead. She carried the show this year.

Absolutely amazing line up of actresses this year.

I hope Sandra Oh wins, I've lost interest with Grey's Anatomy over the years but she is still consistently good at it but I'm afraid Oh will be one of those consistent nominee and loser until the show ends

You've clearly not been watching Parenthood if you think that Aimee Teegarden is the most realistically depicted teen. That's no dis on her, as she does an outstanding job as well, but that crown has been usurped by Mae Whitman for this year. Neither of them will get nominated, but it's a shame that only one of them was deemed worthy to be mentioned by you.

Julie Benz is crazy talented (her Darla was magnificent), but Rita's a thankless role.

    Shouldn't Morena be lead actress?

Sara Ramirez did great work in the Season 6 premiere, Episode 5 - Invasion and has consistently delivered. she also did great comidic work. If the Emmy people are looking for shiny and new actresses for grey's, she deserves a nod. Wilson and Oh in my view would be solely getting a nod for the past season 5. Season 6 saw other actresses on the show taking the spotlight.

FYI: The 2000 mini-series "The Corner" received four Emmy nominations, winning three major awards (Mini-series, writing and directing [Charles S. Dutton]). Sadly, Khandi Alexander was never nominated for her performance. Even after 10 years, I still feel she was robbed.
