With Kristin Chenoweth gone, will 'Glee' or 'Modern Family' stars step up?
Elizabeth Perkins of 'Weeds'
Elizabeth Perkins, "Weeds"
Nomination Status: Three-time nominee shouldn't be counted out, but could find herself on the outside.
In Her Favor: Elizabeth Perkins has been nominated three times in four years for her work as Celia Hodes on "Weeds." It's hard to remember, but Celia actually had some great moments in the Showtime comedy's uneven fifth season, whether alienating her kidnappers in early episodes or unsuccessfully channelling her Inner Nancy at the end of the season. Perkins is departing "Weeds" and voters wouldn't be wrong in wanting to give her one last nomination as a send-off.
Working Against Her: The buzz for "Weeds" has died down in recent seasons and at this point, it trails "United States of Tara" and "Nurse Jackie" for Showtime award buzz. Star Mary-Louise Parker has very likely been squeezed out. Will Perkins also fail to be nominated?
