Michael Emerson, last year's winner, will likely take on Aaron Paul, Terry O'Quinn and more
Andre Braugher of 'Men of a Certain Age'
Andre Braugher, "Men of a Certain Age"
Nomination Status: Emmy's favorite son should break into the field.
In His Favor: How much do Emmy voters love Andre Braugher? He earned a nomination for freakin' "Gideon's Crossing" (an underrated show, but still...). How much do Emmy voters love Andre Braugher? He *won* an Emmy for "Thief." We'll pause for a bit to let you see if you can remember "Thief." Anyway, factor in Emmy love for Braugher, the fact that he actually tends to deserve his nominations because he's kinda an awesome actor and the the fact his show is one which, logically, will probably resonate with a large demographic subset of Emmy voters and you have a plausible and deserving nominee. Heck, the nominations can't all come from "Lost" or "Breaking Bad," can they?
Working Against Him: "Men of a Certain Age" started off with a lot of buzz and then wilted somewhat. Anybody from any new show has to deal with the stars of "Breaking Bad," "Lost" and "Mad Men" to even get noticed and this field may just be too tough for Braugher to break in, especially for a character who was usually understated-by-nature.
