Alexander Gould of 'Weeds'
Alexander Gould, "Weeds"
Nomination Status: No chance.
In His Favor: This is one of our "Personal preference" placements. Alexander Gould has no chance of getting a nomination, but we've loved watching the character arc that has taken his character on "Weeds" from a slightly troubled kid in the first season to a full-blown sadist by the last season finale. It's a tribute to Gould that the evolution has felt relatively organic and that the writers have had the confidence to entrust such a tricky arc to such a young actor.
Working Against Him: Fans haven't necessarily loved Gould's arc and "Weeds" has become less visible and less the awards slam-dunk it used to be. Still, Gould is taking the place we'd normally have set aside for the excellent Justin Kirk on this list.
