Lea Michele of 'Glee'
Lea Michele, "Glee"
Nomination Status: The year's most decorated ingenue is likely to add an Emmy nod to her haul.
In Her Favor: Few young TV actresses have graced as many magazine covers and earned as much critical love as this Broadway veteran. Her award haul includes a Golden Globe nomination and a Satellite (whatever that is) win. On the assumption that Emmy voters are at least somewhat under the spell of "Glee," Michele would be hard to leave out.
Working Against Her: Michele won a SAG Award as part of the "Glee" ensemble, but she wasn't nominated as an individual and if you look at her competition, it isn't hard to see why. Simply put, as beautiful as her voice may be, her TV acting skills aren't anywhere near as nuanced as most of the veterans who make up her competition for this award. Michele is the sort of pretty new face who Golden Globe voters go gaga over, but even deemed Toni Collette the superior actress.
