Cranston, Hamm, Hall and Laurie are locks, but who will join them on the Emmy ballot?
Bryan Cranston of 'Breaking Bad'
Bryan Cranston, "Breaking Bad"
Nomination Status: Two-time winner is sure of another nomination.
In His Favor: Somehow, both of Cranston's two straight Emmy wins for "Breaking Bad" have been described as upsets and even if he wins a third consecutive trophy, it would still surprise some people. Cranston's Walter White wasn't burned with cancer this year, but he still had plenty of other things weighing on his mind, including the demise of his marriage, his new professional partnerships and one particularly pesky fly. Even without the hacking cough and looking slightly less gaunt than in years past, Cranston was no less excellent this year.
Working Against Him: The only thing going against Cranston at this point is the toughness of the category, that some voters may feel that it's simply time to let somebody else win. Nothing is working against his earning another nomination.
