Charlie Sheen of 'Two and a Half Men'
Charlie Sheen, "Two and a Half Men"
Nomination Status: Emmy voters say, "Everything's OK, Charlie!"
In His Favor: Forget the legal trouble and the near-departure from his hit comedy, Charlie Sheen has four straight Emmy nominations in this category and barring a burst of love for Thomas Jane of Matthew Morrison, he's not going anywhere. Despite mockery and attacks, "Two and a Half Men" has held its position and Sheen will do the same.
Working Against Him: Or maybe he won't. How much bad behavior can the Emmy voters turn a blind eye to? If he were a genius, the answer would probably be "Endless!" But he's not a genius. He's Charlie Sheen. From a qualitative viewpoint, he hasn't done anything to fall, so this will be a referendum on Charlie Sheen as Charlie Sheen. But isn't it always?
