With last year's winner Zeljko Ivanek out of the field, is the door open for a 'Lost' or 'Grey's Anatomy' star?

Patrick Dempsey, 'Grey's Anatomy'
Patrick Dempsey, "Grey's Anatomy"
Nomination Status: Has the episodes to get nominated, but maybe not the hype?
Bottom Line: Remember when "Grey's Anatomy" premiered and every magazine cover was all "McDreamy" this and "McDreamy" that. Dempsey never got an Emmy nomination in those early years. Now, suddenly, he's almost an underdog, flying under the radar in the *supporting* category. Although this wasn't a big MerDer season, Dempsey had those two or three episodes where McDreamy quit and came back and then brawled in the hallway with Sloan. That was a vintage Emmy arc and Dempsey played it with all of the gloomy seriousness that Emmy voters could want. There's no way, though, that he and Chambers are both getting nominated.
