Emmy Nomination Preview 2009 - Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama
With nominations coming on Thursday (July 16) morning, can Bryan Cranston hold off Jon Hamm and Hugh Laurie in Emmy's most competitive category?
Ian McShane, 'Kings'
Ian McShane, "Kings"
Nomination Status: Wishful Thinking, Part 3
Bottom Line: McShane only received a single nomination for HBO's "Deadwood," where he gave one of TV's great performances of the past decade. Does anybody actually expect him to get a nomination for an NBC summer Saturday dump? Well, no. That doesn't mean, though, that McShane's work on "Kings" isn't absolutely terrific. Without him, Michael Green's dialogue wouldn't work. Without him the show wouldn't work. Check out last Saturday's episode. That's ACTING, y'all.
