Emmy Nomination Preview 2009 - Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy
Can Steve Carell dethrone Alec Baldwin? Will Jim Parsons make the cut?
Kevin Connolly of 'Entourage'
Kevin Connolly, "Entourage"
Nomination Status: Only if the Emmys want to become even more irrelevant
Bottom Line: First off, Kevin Connolly isn't bad on "Entourage." In fact, he's just fine. But no Golden Globe nomination this past December caused more raised eyebrows than Connolly's nod for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Part of the confusion was about Connolly being the lead on the show. He always has been, folks. A big part, though, was about what Connolly did last season on "Entourage" to suddenly become Golden Globe fodder. No, it wasn't quite as bad as giving Bob Saget or Jim Belushi a nomination. Since Emmy voters don't usually let the Golden Globes steer them, they probably won't make the same mistake.
