Alec Baldwin, "30 Rock"

Nomination Status: A strong defending champion

Bottom Line: "30 Rock" was an unbeatable juggernaut in nearly every available comedy category at last fall's Emmy Awards and although the field may be a bit closer this year, we're still expecting "30 Rock" to keep on rolling. Last season, Baldwin had an unbeatable Emmy episode in "Rosemary's Baby," which featured the Jack-Tracy therapy session. Nothing this season was quite on that level, but what possibly could have been? Probably "Generalissimo," built around Jack's resemblance to a telenovela heavy, was Baldwin's finest showcase, but he had another great season.
