The show wasn't only about trophies and Neil Patrick Harris, Justin Timberlake and 'Pushing Daisies' were among the big winners and losers on Emmy night
Winner: Neil Patrick Harris, Emmy Host
When Jeff Probst, Jon Stewart and Ricky Gervais sacrifice screentime to tell you how good you've been, you know you're doing something right. Harris was charming, funny and sang wonderfully, all while rarely demanding the spotlight for himself. The Emmy telecast is still a clunky behemoth with far too many categories and interruptions, but Harris served as an amiable MC and cruise director and only improved proceedings. He also handled losing to Jon Cryer like the ultimate good sport and didn't miss a beat. Kudos to NPH. May you win your Emmy next year.
