From 'Grindhouse' to 'Battlefield Earth,' here are some memorably brutal film shoots
'Beyond the Sea' (2004)
One of the problems with a dream movie is that people can get fixated on what they want to do to such a degree that they no longer consider whether or not they should do them. I can understand why Kevin Spacey would want to play Bobby Darin, but at some point, even with him directing the film, someone should have pointed out that he bears no physical resemblance to Darin and he was substantially too old to play any part of the story by the time he got the film made. Part of the problem is that these are frequently films that only get made because of some other success the person had, so it's like they called in a favor and no one is willing to say no to them at that point, even when they should. And when you're looking at something like 'Beyond The Sea,' they definitely should have.
