'The Blues Brothers' (1980)

Why it's so great: One of the first "SNL" skits to be transferred to the big screen, John Landis' over-the-top blues musical (bluesical?) starred best buds John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd.

Remake-o-meter says: Terrible sequel aside (1998's "Blues Brothers 2000"), the concept of revisiting this one-note (correction: one very funny note) idea without Belushi just sounds wrong. But Aykroyd is still trying to mount a "Ghostbusters 3" (even without Bill Murray), so money could end up calling the shots.
