Saturday, Aug. 7: Green Day v. Phoenix
Both rock-based acts had critically acclaimed albums last year, though Phoenix finally had its breakout with tracks like "Lisztomania" and "1901." As Green Day headed toward Broadway with its "American Idiot" musical and largely keeping away from the normal tour cycle, the French band Phoenix has just been doing its best to sell out shows and playing a multitude of fests and U.S. dates as they come.
Green Day will likely be holding to new tunes from "Idiot" and "21st Century Breakdown" with classics from the '90s dotted in, while Phoenix will make bodies move to the majority of "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix."
Phoenix starts at 8:30 p.m. while Green Day goes on at 7:45. Both go 'til 10.
