John Hawkes somberly greets the press line
Hawkes was nominated for Best Ensemble Performance alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Sarah Paulson and the rest of his "Martha Marcy May Marlene" co-stars, which they lost. He was also in actress Vera Farmiga's "Higher Ground", for which Farmiga was nominated for Breakthrough Director (she lost to "Pariah" director Dee Rees).
