We find 11 great moments from the most fake awards show of them all
Best: Ben Affleck gives the best acceptance speech of the night
After being presented with the Best Film Award for David Fincher's "Gone Girl" by Ron Howard, Ben Affleck began a series of zingers that no doubt had George Clooney smiling somewhere.
"In a true Hollywood Film Award moment we met at the urinal. Nice to see you Rob," Affleck says.
Affleck then began a hilarious rant about his now well documented semi-frontal moment in "Gone."
"[I'd like] to thank David for the way he treated me. And David assured me, because trust is essential with directors and actors, 'Listen, if we tilt down, we'll never go far enough to see anything." Affleck says. "I'd like to thank you for keeping the set cool. If you are going to have one chance for America to see your junk, you want it to be cold."
After some laughter subsides Affleck cracks, "When they told me there were no other nominees I felt cautiously optimistic" which got one of the loudest roars of the night. But Affleck wasn't done.
"David would not do this for sure, but I want to thank the studio," Affleck rips. "David isn't here because he's still shooting. He's doing inserts."
There is some good news for Affleck, however, he finished up noting , "By the end of the 120 days of shooting [I convinced David] that if Brad Pitt isn't available I can read for his next movie."
Well done Mr. Affleck. Let's hope you don't disappear during the rest of the season.
