Snowy Sundance supplies another slew of super cinema
The 2010 Sundance Film Festival didn't have the passionate breakout titles of years past such as "Precious," "The Squid and the Whale," "Little Miss Sunshine" or "The Blair Witch Project" this time around, but to say there was a shortage of quality films would be completely disengenious. In fact, there were many good to very good films and few complete stinkers (although "Twelve" does immediately come to mind in that category). So, while the snow fell in Park City (and boy did it), independent cinema delivered a slew of intriguing new flicks, many of which have already found or will soon land distribution deals.
With that in mind, the HitFix staff have selected a consensus ten best films from this year's festival. Our suggestion? Keep them in mind when deciding what to see in your local theater or what to slot in that Netflix cue over the coming year. We're guessing you'll be glad you did.
