BEST/WORST: Hugh Jackman
Jackman's latest stint as emcee was typically loose and dynamic, with the X-Man's greatest strength being his ability to make every moment on stage feel effortless. Still, it was something of a mixed bag. His bouncing schtick at show's open was a little...uh, baffling, and I could've done without his hip-hop "Music Man" routine with T.I. and LL Cool J (now apparently an unstoppable fixture on the awards show circuit). That said, for every bit that didn't work there was a winning moment like his late-in-the-game cavorting with all five Lead Actress in a Musical nominees, including a very, very lucky Idina Menzel. He may not be quite as showstopping a host as NPH, but what he lacks in polish he makes up for in pure bravado and dedication.
