Worst: SAG voters love the Dames
Helen Mirren is one of the finest actors of this generation or any other generation, but she gave a bad, hammy performance in "Phil Spector." Fortunately, even Mirren realized that Elisabeth Moss deserved to win and honored her in what was a thoroughly appealing speech that almost excused how she came to be making it. But Mirren was a positively worthy winner compared to Dame Maggie Smith's utterly ridiculous win for Best Female Actor in a Drama Series. Because of the silly lack of supporting TV categories, that means that SAG voters somehow worship at the altar of The Dowager Countess to the exception of all of the contenders in what has actually become the most competitive TV category in all of award-dom. Sorry to Claire Danes, Anna Gunn, Jessica Lange and Kerry Washington, any of whom would have been a more deserving winner. And that's not even getting to the dozen fine actors who didn't even get nominated who would have been more worthy nominees that Smith.
