Best: Quentin Tarantino ends Cannes on a 'high' note
Friday night, Quentin Tarantino took the stage at the outdoor beach theater where the festival screens classic movies every night and, in front of a standing-room-only crowd, brought up John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Harvey Weinstein and Lawrence Bender to introduce a 20th anniversary screening of "Pulp Fiction," and he couldn't have been more excited. Quentin talked about how special it was to show the film there the first time, and how much fun it was going to be to see the film in a brand-new setting. His final line was pure Tarantino. "And for all of you who've got joints with you... RIP 'EM OUT, LIGHT 'EM UP, AND LET'S ENJOY 'PULP FIIIIIIIIIIICTION!!!" The waves of smoke in response were one of the rowdiest moments of the entire festival, and set the mood for what is still a wild ride.
