Best and Worst: Taylor Swift's award speech
Taylor Swift picked up the first-ever Dick Clark Award For Excellence, which is an honor created from thin air seemingly to provide excuse for the best-seller to take the stage again. Kinda gross? But Swift rolled with it, and didn't just spend her moment on the podium with generic thank yous. She actually spent air-time to point out a subtle argument she's been making lately against Spotify: that her popularity is due in part to her album sales. Album sales. Whether you're for or against her "value of art" argument, you gotta admit it was ballsy to take the tiff to a national televised stage.
