Best and Worst of the 2013 Grammy Awards
Worst: Frank Ocean
As talented as Ocean clearly is, he seems unable to really "bring it" when it comes to hitting a stage as big as the Grammys. Following his rather disappointing performance of "Thinkin Bout You" at last year's VMAS, Ocean put on another relatively lackluster show this evening with a rendition of his "Channel Orange" track "Forrest Gump." While the video-screen element was kinda funny and clever (a pair of projected legs made it appear as if the singer were running the entire performance), his voice frankly seemed a little off and, worse, he brought so little energy to the stage that he might as well have been performing to an audience of seven people in his living room. Nevertheless, his triumph over Chris Brown for Best Urban Contemporary Album still counts as one of my favorite moments of the evening. Now that's what I call a win.
