Worst: 'Evita,' but showcasing Ricky Martin
Tony Awards organizers have a challenge, where they want to showcase the high profile nominees, but they have to make sure that a few ordinary viewers have a reason to stick around. That means we get an awful musical number from "Ghost: The Musical." And then it means that when we have to watch a scene from the tepidly reviewed revival of "Evita," rather than picking a number that showcases Tony nominee Michael Cerveris or well-regarded star Elena Roger it's all about Ricky Martin's decidedly so-so Che. The Tony producers had a bit of a laugh by following Martin within 10 minutes with a presenter Mandy Patinkin. Google Mandy Patinkin + "The Money Kept Rolling In" to hear how that song is SUPPOSED to sound.
