Best and Worst of the 2012 SAG Awards: 'The Help,' 'Bridesmaids' drinking game, Betty White
Plus: Are Tina Fey and John Krasinski destined to host the Oscars together?
Best: Viola Davis gets a standing ovation
Overnight success stories may be "sexier", but it's actors like tonight's Best Actress winner Viola Davis who truly earn the respect of their fellow thesps by plugging away for years before finally earning recognition. Beginning her career in theater, Davis has forged a slow and steady path in Hollywood since she first turned to film acting, giving impressive supporting turns in several films before earning an Oscar nomination for her brief but heartbreaking turn in "Doubt" opposite Meryl Streep. Now, with so much praise heaped upon her leading performance in "The Help", there's no doubt she's here to stay. The work ethic and perseverance required for such a feat is truly inspiring, and it was a sentiment clearly shared by Davis' fellow actors tonight as they stood in recognition of a talented woman who has managed to make her way to the top though sheer sweat and determination. - Chris Eggertsen
