Best: 'The Artist' star Jean Dujardin surprises as Best Actor
With "Descendants" star George Clooney the favorite for Best Actor going into the night, it was quite a surprise to hear Dujardin's name called - which of course is the sort of upset we like to see during awards shows, given their tendency to pan out in such predictable fashion. Now the outcome for Best Actor at the Oscars looks far less certain than it did going into the night, putting Clooney's seemingly-surefire win on shakier ground. But hey, isn't narrative suspense what the movies are all about? - Chris Eggertsen
