Best: Meryl Streep's win
For months the writing was on the wall that "The Help's" Viola Davis would win the Oscar for best actress. Shoot, you'd be lucky to find a pundit who wasn't picking anyone else. Instead, Colin Firth had the surprise and joy to announce his "Mamma Mia" co-star as this year's best actress winner. Sure, Davis was superb in "The Help," but so was Streep and the fact she had lost 14 straight times previously over 30 years only made the win that much sweeter. In fact, this writer jumped up and screamed when her name was announced. And don't worry Meryl, no one at home was thinking "Oh no, not you" Quite the opposite. And your speech? It even made Sandra bullock cry.
