Which of these movies will hit your hometown?
Best: Rabbit Hole
Why: John Cameron Mitchell's film adaptation of the play by David Lindsay-Abaire, which won the Tony and Pulitzer Prize in 2007, is a marvel of restraint and taste, a simple story of a couple's attempts to salvage their marriage in the wake of the death of their four-year-old boy. Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart are both great in the film, and the direction is austere, smart, and steadfastly anti-sentimental. It's a major accomplishment.
Will you see this in a theater near you? Yep, and before the end of the year according to Lionsgate. This is an Oscar-worthy picture that could easily alter the gravity of the Oscar race, and now that the distributor owns the film, hopefully they'll get it in he hunt right now.
