Toronto's best and worst for 2010
Starpower? Always. Oscar players? Always. Potential genre breakouts? Always. Some major misfires? Always. A good movie or two debuting after the first weekend? Usually not, but that was the surprise at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival. A slew of unexpected strong films debuted during the tail end of the annual cinema event including "Submarine," "Insidious" and "Rabbit Hole." And there appeared to just as many more turds over the first few days than ever before . Needless to say, it kept many festival goers on their toes, which is never a bad thing. With that in mind, here's a rundown of 12 of the best and worst films the HitFix editorial team caught during this year's continually surprising festival. Happily, many of the better selections will be heading soon to a theater near you.
