Best and Worst of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards
Kisses, Tom Cruise, Sandra Bullock and too much [expletive] bleeping
Best: Sandra Bullock
First off, Sandra Bullock gets amazing props for proving once again why she is so beloved by fans and by her colleagues in the industry. She gave an excellent acceptance speech for the show's Generation Award where she attacked the tabloid rumors about her life over the past few months with charming candor and made it clear she wasn't "going anywhere." Then in a clever nod to her classic, impromptu moment kissing Meryl Streep at the Critic's Choice Awards in January, Bullock delighted the crowd by giving a quick smooch with a more than game Scarlett Johansson. Self-deprecation, honesty and class. No one does it better in this town.

June 7, 2010 at 5:25AM EST Reply to CommentYou can hate on Twilight winning but the fact of the matter is... Avatar is horrible. It's god awful and if it one over New Moon, then I would question the taste of this current batch of MTV viewers.
the taste of current MTV viewers, umm twilights viewership is 13 year olds that wouldn't recognize good acting if it bit them in the ass. there are so many bad acting problems in that movie that it deserves to never win any award that has to do with acting.

June 7, 2010 at 8:37AM EST Reply to CommentOh NOW WE WANT TO CHANGE THE SYSTEM BECAUSE TWILIGHT IS WINNING!! When Lord of the Rings won three years in a row did you say CHANGE THE SYSTEM back then?!!! Avatar made a billion dollars, WTF?!! Their fanbase is clearly bigger than Twilights. Maybe it's because people like Twilight more than what you think they do.. You think Harry Potter's fan base isn't big? IT'S FRIGG'IN GLOBAL!! So stop with your Twilight hating. Twilight has two movies to go. Then, Sandra Bullock can go back to winning as well as Jim Carey. OH, you don't think Jim Carey winning in the best comedian category isn't a fix even when his movie sucked?! So back off of Twilight because it's clear you are a Twilight hater!!! This movie awards's show has been this way for decades and now you want to change the rules just because Twilight is winning. How typical of a fanboy hater. Hey fanboy, Twilight's not going to be at ComiCon this year, you should be happy.

June 7, 2010 at 9:19AM EST Reply to CommentThink about who MTV's target market is. Think about who's voting for all these categories. Yeah...exactly. You can't blame MTV for last night's results. Quite honestly, all this anti-Twilight crap is getting old. Deal with it. It's going to be around for another 2 years.

June 7, 2010 at 11:26AM EST Reply to CommentThe bulk of this show is devoted to promoting movies that haven't come out yet. That alone is reason enough to stay away.

June 7, 2010 at 12:15PM EST Reply to CommentI don't know how you can diss Twilight and still expect their fans to give your site hits with your Twilight 'hub.' Talk about hypocrisy. You should just go full on hate like slashfilm and embrace the misogyny.
First of, it's not dissing. The point is that there is no reason you can't spread the wealth among the awards. The current system is not set up for that.

June 7, 2010 at 12:26PM EST Reply to CommentWow you guys are super negative hahaha. I gotta say I liked absolutely everything about the awards last time I thought they were super hilarious compared to the past few years. Except for the Jersey Shore cast. I'll give you that.

June 7, 2010 at 1:18PM EST Reply to CommentDon't you think that they would gladly give Johnny depp or Angie an awrd if they came to the show? The fact is that Johnny, Angie and a lot of A lister only come out when they need to promote something. So why waste an award on someon who isn't going to show up and why not give it to an actor or series that brings tons of fans to the show.

June 7, 2010 at 4:32PM EST Reply to CommentAziz is one of the biggest stand-ups in the country right now. He was a big "get" for MTV. "the time I went to an R. Kelly concert" is part of his act, and it's fantastic. You may need to see that first before you find the R. Kelly bit funny.
Didn't Pulp Fiction and The Matrix win in the 90s? Has it always been based on the whims of teenage girls?
Gareth Since when have teenage girls been into Pulp Fiction and The Matrix?
