Best and Worst of the 2009 Oscars

Winners and presenters ruled, Jackman's musical number didn't

Best: Previous Actor's Participation

Best: Previous Actor's Participation

Two of the best moments of the show were when previous winners for Best Actress (Sophia Loren, Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, Goldie Hawn, Marion Coilliard) and Best Actor (Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Adrien Brody, Anthony Hopkins, Ben Kingsley) presented the awards.  Two standing ovations and some toucned nominees later, perhaps a new tradition is in the works?

    O Goncho

I thought Jackman's opening number was the highlight of what was a patchy (at best) show. I mean, you actually considered Sophie Loren's woodier than wooden presentation skills as a HIGHLIGHT?! Seriously...

The further into this the more it stinks of wrong. Daniel Craig & SJP were amongst the BEST?? Dear lord, what Oscars did you watch?

I have to respectfully disagree with Queen Latifah's singing over the memorial for the recently deceased being one of the best parts of the show.

The memorial usually is one of the best parts of the show, but the television coverage of the combination was terrible. For about one-third of the people, you couldn't read the names, or what they did within the industry.

Maybe people who obsessively follow the movies could pick out who those pictured were, but as a casual follower, I couldn't tell who everyone was.

They need to go back to showing the memorial film full screen and if they want Queen Latifah to sing, just have the sound and skip showing her.
