Worst: The Mimics themselves are pretty sketchy in terms of design
So our world has essentially been taken over by alien invaders called Mimics. But what do they look like? Why are they called that? How do they live? What can they do and what can't they do? On one hand, I get that "Edge of Tomorrow" may possibly be attempting to keep the Mimics a bit of a mystery to the audience intentionally. But other than budgetary concerns, why bother? There are battle scenes that are very well-staged for practical purposes, but when the Mimics attack, they're shiny, tentacled dervishes without a clear biology or attack strategy. It's amazing the action works as well as it does and that we don't just call this movie "Tom Cruise versus The Metallic Wacky Wallwalkers."
