Do Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels live up to the 1994 original?
Worst: When it becomes 'Mean and Meaner'
One of the things that lands most wrong here is the casual cruelty of the characters, something that was not true of the first film. The best example is when they invade the TED talks and end up destroying one poor guy while he's onstage. It's not them being dumb; it's them being total jerks for sport, and it feels like a weird misstep for the Farrellys, who are about the least cruel people I can imagine.
