What worked and what didn't
Best: Aronofsky finally got a #1 opening weekend
The only reason Aronofsky was able to get this film off the ground was because "Black Swan" became an unexpected phenomenon around the world, and it bought him some room to breathe on this film. Now that he's opened a movie as unusual and personal as "Noah" at number one, here's hoping he can leverage that into another personal vision. Guys like Aronofsky can struggle, and not because of any question about their talent but because they frequently dream in a way that Hollywood doesn't easily recognize. Money talks, and this can only be a good thing for one of our most arresting talents.
