Why: Affleck was the perfect fit to play George Reeves, who was often visibly uncomfortable with the role of Superman, and it's because he's unable to hide it when he doesn't like something he's in. He perfectly captures the self-loathing that became part of the public identity of Reeves, and it's hard not to see this as an act of auto-biography, a man at a personal crisis point using his art to work through some very conflicted feelings. He came out of the other side with a great performance under his belt and a renewed attitude that has led to some of the best work he's ever done. Never go back, Ben. Never go back.
