Best and Worst of 2010 Grammy Awards: Beyonce's 'Boy,' Taylor Swift meets Stevie Nicks, Michael Jackson tribute
Was GaGa and Elton John's duet a homerun or a foul ball?
Worst: Tribute to Michael Jackson
Trot out Jackson's two oldest kids, Prince Michael and Paris: shameless. Trot out Smokie Robinson: sameness. Usher trots out the shades, again: lameness.
This 3D/Target marketing opportunity falls flat because, if you're gonna pay tribute to the biggest names in pop music this side of the galaxy, frankly, you should play the hits, show some respect and have Celine Dion la-la over somebody else's song.
As heavyhanded and just plain awkward as this was: please, please, please let this be the last tribute to Jackson that we see. He's been dead for more than seven months. We're not going to forget him just because the cheesy tributes end.
