Michael Keaton, Benedict Cumberbatch, and more vie for gold.
Bill Murray ("St. Vincent")
Pros: First, he's Bill freakin' Murray. He's a true comedic legend who earned an Oscar nod in this category 10 years ago for "Lost in Translation." "St. Vincent" is his first major leading role since "Broken Flowers" in 2005. He's already received strong notices and if the film's a hit? He's got a chance. You can certainly pencil him in for a Golden Globe nomination, however.
Cons: "St. Vincent's" box office prospects do not seem as rosy now as they did after the film's premiere at the 2014 Toronto Film Festival. Murray has also failed to crack Oscar with roles in award season bait such as "Hyde Park on Hudson."
