Michael Keaton, Benedict Cumberbatch, and more vie for gold.
Brendan Gleeson ("Calvary")
Pros: Strange that Gleeson has never been nominated for an Oscar but he certainly seems to remind everyone on more or less an annual basis what he's capable of. This year's example is an Irish western of sorts, Gleeson's man of the cloth the lone spot of good in an otherwise jaded, cynical and festering village community.
Cons: Searchlight has its hands full as it is with other, bigger players. This one debuted at Sundance and saw a really paltry counter-programming box office take at the end of the summer. Did anyone even see it?
