Get ready to meet the Suicide Squad, Cyborg, Shazam, Aquaman and a new Flash
Release year: 2020
Main superheroes: Cyborg
Cast to date: Ray Fisher
Who should direct: Cyborg's a brawler, and you want to make a film like this sleek and kinetic, so I'm nominating David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, the co-directors of "John Wick"
Biggest question: Ray who? So far, Ray Fisher has a grand total of one released film listed on the IMDb, and there's not even a picture of him on his page. They're betting big on this guy, and it is not a small thing that this is going a lesser-known character starring an untested actor who also happens to be black. True, we're talking about a movie that is still six years away, and that's plenty of time to have him go make a few other films to help shore up his presence in pop culture. Here's something to keep an eye out for now that this movie and "Wonder Woman" have been slated, and it will say a lot of about Marvel's state of mind. If we see announcements in the very near future about a Carol Danvers-centric "Captain Marvel" film or a "Black Panther" film with dates before "Wonder Woman" and "Cyborg," then Marvel's not playing around, and they're not going to let DC get ahead of them.
