'The Killing' (Netflix)
After surviving two AMC cancellations, "The Killing" returns for a six-episode season that Netflix is confidently and repeatedly calling its last. The premise behind this truncated wrap-up is that when we left things, Mirelle Enos' Linden had just done a Very Bad Thing and viewers NEEDED to see what ripples emanated from that action for both Linden and Joel Kinnaman's Holder, presumably landing the characters in a more settled position, while also working in a murder mystery involving a military academy fronted by Special Guest Star Joan Allen. So it'll be six episodes, a solved case and done, right? Well, nothing has ever been that simple for Veena Sud's Seattle-set drama. We'll believe "The Killing" is done when they pry it from our cold, dead hands. Or... When we pry ourselves from its cold dead hands? Dunno. Anyway, it ain't over till it's over, but for now we're saying that after six episodes, "The Killing" is over.
