Josh Thomas writes and stars in this hilarious Australian import that details a still-underrepresented perspective: the awkward gay high-schooler who just came out and is wondering how to feel about it. Though Thomas is only 27, his quiet drollness is reminiscent of Bob Newhart; he waits an extra beat and stutters while reacting to the confident folks around him. It's real and funny without ever being cloying, and that's a shocking new development in coming-of-age TV.
