"Boogaloo and Graham"
Director: Michael Lennox
Kudos: none yet
Lowdown: "Boogaloo and Graham" is just sort of a little delight. It doesn't have the emotional wallop of some of the other contenders, but it tells a rich period story — 1970s Belfast — about a pair of brothers gifted with two young chicks to raise by their father. But when their mother springs the news that a new baby is on the horizon, it appears some tough decisions about the then-grown chickens will be coming along with it. The film zips along with an oldies verve and never focuses on the obvious political unrest surrounding it beyond sprinkling a bit of that flavor here and there. It's a film clearly made with love.
