'American Idol' Top 13 Interviews for Season 11

Which singer loves juice? How tall is Jermaine? What's Heejun's secret talent?

Interview: Colton Dixon of 'American Idol'

When Jimmy Iovine says that he likes your stuff, what’s that like?

Jimmy [Iovine] was so hard on so many people tonight. I was really worried to hear what he had to say. But to hear him say that he loved what I'm doing…and he worded it kind of funny, but he basically said, this week was a big moment for me, how am I going to top it? And I'm excited to show Jimmy that I can top it every single week and keep going and hopefully come out on top.

What can we expect from you musically?

I love rock music, it’s my passion, but I’m also a worship leader – I love workship, it’s just how I express myself, so even in my own way – it might not even be a Christian song, but I’m going to be worshipping on that stage. I’m going to leave all my passion and all my emotion on the stage and hopefully America will connect with that.

How important do you see the piano as being for you this season?

The piano plays a huge part of me. That’s my home, being on stage behind a piano, that’s where I’ve grown up. That’s what I’ve grown up doing. But America gets tired of seeing the same thing, so I’ve got to break away from that. I will definitely be returning to that piano, so don’t worry.

You were not going to try out this season. Is this emotionally the most taxing thing you’ve done?

This is absolutely the craziest thing I’ve ever done by far. Especially not wanting to do it in the first place. It just shows you how much control God has in your life and you’re an ant. And he’ll take you and put you places you don’t necessarily want to go, but you need to go.
