Awful expectations: “One more installment of ‘Wolverine & Friends,’ complete with action figures I’ll be desperately searching for come Christmas.”
Delightful reality: Bryan Singer apologized for all the sub-par “X-Men” movies over the last decade by declaring them null and void in one fell swoop. A retcon has never been more universally welcomed by a fandom. Oh, and it at least set up the baton pass to go from “Wolverine & Friends” to “Mystique & Friends.”
