Winner: Tobey Jones over Anthony Hopkins
Tobey Jones had been down this dueling biopic road before and been the loser. "Capote" earned Philip Seymour Hoffman an Oscar, but "Infamous" only earned Jones complimentary reviews. But in The Big Hitchcock Showdown of 2012, the early returns are in and Jones appears to be the winner, at least if you measure "winning" by Golden Globe nominations. Jones' make-up aided portrayal of The Master of Suspense is up for a Globe in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television category, while Anthony Hopkins was snubbed on the movie side. We guess Globes voters prefer their Hitchcock psychologically twisted and pervy to eccentric and brilliant.
