What's at stake: "J. Edgar," "Hereafter" and "Changeling" were more or less critical duds, while the box office high of "Gran Torino" has certainly worn off by now. Meanwhile, Eastwood has been in the prestige business for a number of years now but "Letters from Iwo Jima" eight years ago was the lats of his films to really take off on the circuit. Is "Jersey Boys" going to be more or less in line with that even, unremarkable keel or will the Broadway adaptation breathe new life into his autumn career? And how much longer will the legend virtually have carte blanche at Warner Bros.?
