23. Mr. Green's blunt-force homosexuality
While other '80s comedies feature plenty of casually homophobic humor, "Clue" takes a stand and presents a character who is out and straightforward. "I work for the state department. And I am a homosexual," Mr. Green tells the other guests. "I have no shame or personal guilt about this. But I must keep it a secret or I will lose my job on security grounds. Thank you." No one even responds. They ignore Green like they've always ignored Green. It's a delight.
