'Freebie And The Bean'
This may be the least-known film on this list, but as soon as Mr. Beaks suggested it, I knew I had to include it. If you aren't familiar with the original, it is in many ways the origin of the buddy cop genre, and it is totally batshit crazy. Obviously you don't make this film today, but if they had made a series of "Freebie and the Bean" films in the '70s and '80s, I would proudly own that box set today. As it is, the original is available at long last from the Warner Archive Collection, and it remains just as big a kick and just as strange as it was when it was first released.
