When "Austin Powers" tanked at the box-office, that could have easily been the end of the character, but then home video was a whole different story. The film found its audience, and the sequel ended up being one of the biggest films of 1999. I believe the same thing would have happened if they had ever decided to make a "Galaxy Quest" follow up. This is a better "Star Trek" movie than some of the real "Star Trek" movies, and it's a winning cast that would still be exciting to put back together. Now that the cast has had their origin story, further adventures could get weirder and bigger, and I have to think it would be easier to sell just based on the massive goodwill that's out there for the original.
